ZAGREB, November 5, 2026 — Croatia Airlines CEO Jasmin Bajić has resigned and will retire. He leaves on December 5, 2026.
Details
- Reason: health reasons, according to EX-YU Aviation News.
- Successor: new management is to be appointed within a month. No successor or interim CEO has been named (TBA).
- Background: Bajić joined the airline in January 1995 and has been CEO since 2017. He previously worked in corporate strategy, fleet and network planning, and finance. He was elected to the IATA Board of Governors in 2024.
- Business context: the carrier is finishing its move to an all-Airbus A220 fleet. It reported a net loss of €64.7 million for the first nine months of 2026, up from €20.9 million a year earlier. It warned of more pressure in Q4 from weaker seasonal demand and problems with the fleet renewal.
What it means for travelers
- No immediate change to flights.
- Winter is the low season. The airline expects weaker demand in Q4, which usually means more open seats. But fleet renewal problems can cause last-minute aircraft swaps or cancellations, so check your flight on the day.
- Watch the new management’s plans. With losses this large, a new CEO may review the network or schedule. Nothing has been announced.
