November 5, 2026 — Viking has taken delivery of Viking Haki, a new 190-guest longship for the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. The company also set November 17 for its third-quarter results call.
What happened
Viking Haki has 95 cabins. It will sail Viking’s Rhine Getaway, Grand European Tour, Danube Waltz and Tulips & Windmills itineraries, plus seasonal Christmas Market cruises. First sailing date TBA.
Viking plans to add 17 more river ships by 2028, 11 ocean ships by 2032 and two expedition ships by 2031. That would bring its river fleet to 114 ships in 2028 and its ocean fleet to 28 ships by 2032.
Separately, Viking will release third-quarter 2026 results before the stock market opens on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, with a call at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time. It will be webcast on Viking’s investor relations website, with a replay available for 30 days.
What it means for travelers
- Christmas markets are coming up. Holiday river cruises line up with busy late-December flights to Europe. Plan to arrive a day or two early.
- Common gateways. Rhine and Danube cruises often start or end in Amsterdam (AMS), Basel (BSL), Budapest (BUD) or Nuremberg (NUE). Check your cruise’s exact start and end cities and consider open-jaw flights.
