October 21, 2026 — The Dominican Republic’s first Four Seasons now has a target: the resort at Tropicalia on Playa Esmeralda in Miches is aiming for a mid-2027 debut, with 95 rooms and a long list of family and wellness amenities. The exact opening date is still TBA.
What is happening
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts named the project among its anticipated 2027-and-beyond openings in a development update released October 20, and Caribbean Journal reported the same day that the beachfront resort is targeting mid-2027. The resort sits on Playa Esmeralda on the Dominican Republic’s northeastern coast, near Samaná Bay, and is designed by architect Isay Weinfeld in a tropical-modernist style. The project is tied to Tropicalia and the Cisneros family, whose La Querencia farm is expected to supply ingredients to the kitchens.
