November 4, 2026 — Israeli-owned Mano Cruise’s Crown Iris was held for several hours on the Greek island of Syros on Tuesday after a bomb threat, delaying the final leg of a seven-night round trip from Haifa.

What happened

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Greek bomb disposal teams, a detection dog and a diver searched the ship in Syros and found nothing suspicious, Cruise Hive reported. A second check by a Hellenic Coast Guard underwater unit was expected before the ship was cleared to leave. Local authorities had banned a protest on Monday, November 2.

The ship was scheduled in port from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but, according to ship-tracking data cited in the report, had still not sailed at about 10 p.m. local time. Its final departure time has not been reported (TBA).

What it means for travelers

  • Guests on this sailing: a late departure from Syros means a later arrival back in Haifa. Check with Mano Cruise for the revised arrival time before you lock in a flight home.
  • Connecting through Tel Aviv: Haifa sailings are usually reached through Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). Leave plenty of time between disembarkation and any departing flight.
  • Security checks can add hours: on any Eastern Mediterranean sailing, keep your return flight flexible where you can.
