November 5, 2026 — Park Hyatt’s first all-inclusive resort, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Caribbean coast near Cancún, is now accepting reservations for stays from December 3, 2026, earlier than the February 2027 date previously shown.

What is happening

One Mile at a Time reported on November 4 that the opening of Park Hyatt Riviera Maya has been moved forward by a couple of months and that the resort is “now accepting reservations for stays as of December 3, 2026.” Earlier timelines had pointed to 2025 and then February 2027. Hyatt has not published a formal grand-opening date in the sources reviewed, so the exact opening day is TBA; December 3 is the first bookable night.

What it means for travelers

  • Airport: Cancún International (CUN) is the gateway for the Riviera Maya. The source did not give a transfer time, so confirm it with the resort when booking.
  • Early-opening caution: One Mile at a Time’s own article is not fully consistent on the opening timing, and new resorts often run soft openings. Keep plans flexible for early-December dates and watch for a confirmation from Hyatt.
  • Same price for one or two: the article says rates and points appear to be the same for one or two guests, so solo travelers gain little.
  • Points option: at 45,000–85,000 World of Hyatt points a night, an award stay may make more sense than the roughly $1,500 cash rate for points holders.
  • When to book: bookings are open now for December 3 onward. Winter is peak season in Cancún, so flights fill early around the holidays.
