October 20, 2026 — Oman Air and Finnair have signed a codeshare agreement linking Oman, Finland, other European cities and Australia. It is Oman Air’s first new codeshare since it joined the oneworld alliance in June 2025.
What happened
The two oneworld airlines announced the deal on October 19. According to Airliner World, Oman Air customers will be able to reach Finnair flights to Helsinki from eight European airports, and the two airlines will connect passengers to Melbourne via Bangkok.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| European gateways to Finnair’s Helsinki flights | London Heathrow, Paris CDG, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino |
| Australia link | Melbourne via Bangkok (Oman Air flies Muscat–Bangkok twice daily) |
| Oman Air to Heathrow | 11 weekly nonstop flights from Muscat |
| Start date | TBA |
| Codeshare flight numbers | TBA |
Passengers on either airline get oneworld frequent flyer recognition, including tier benefits where they apply. Oman Air’s head of partnerships and alliances, Rohan Patell, called the deal “an exciting next step” in getting value from alliance membership.
What it means for travelers
- Nothing changes until sales start. No start date has been published. Once tickets go on sale, expect some extra connecting traffic through Heathrow, the other European gateways and Bangkok.
- A new way to Melbourne. Muscat–Bangkok–Melbourne gives oneworld travelers another routing to Australia to consider when other options are full.
