October 29, 2026 — IHG Hotels & Resorts is bringing its Ruby brand to Asia Pacific for the first time with a 184-room hotel in Bangkok’s Sathorn business district, expected to open in 2027.

What is happening

IHG announced on October 29 that it has agreed a new Ruby hotel in Bangkok in partnership with Asset World Corp (AWC), a Thai lifestyle real-estate group. It will be Ruby’s first hotel in Thailand and in the Asia Pacific region. The hotel’s full name and exact opening date have not been announced.

Ruby is an urban lifestyle brand that IHG acquired. It focuses on characterful hotels in central locations, with design-led rooms and self-service technology. The brand has more than 40 hotels open or in the pipeline in Europe and the United States and is aiming for more than 120 over the next decade.
