October 17, 2026 — Princess Cruises’ Star Princess has finished its first year in service and is heading back to Port Everglades, Florida, for a second winter of short Caribbean and Bahamas cruises starting in late October, followed by a Panama Canal voyage and a second Alaska season in 2027.
What’s next for Star Princess
| When | Deployment |
|---|---|
| From late October 2026 (exact date TBA) | 4- to 7-night Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Port Everglades |
| April 2027 | Panama Canal voyage |
| Summer 2027 | Second Alaska season from Seattle |
The first year
The LNG-powered, 4,300-passenger ship, the second of Princess’s Sphere class, was delivered by Fincantieri on September 26, 2025. It began with an 11-night Western Mediterranean maiden voyage from Barcelona on October 4, 2025, crossed the Atlantic in early November, and was christened in Fort Lauderdale on November 7, 2025, with Camila and Matthew McConaughey as godparents. Its first Alaska season from Seattle carried about 90,000 guests on more than 20 week-long departures, ending in late September.
What it means for travelers
- Port Everglades is minutes from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), and Miami (MIA) is an alternative. Short four- and five-night cruises make an easy long weekend if you fly in the day before.
- For the 2027 Alaska season, plan on flights into Seattle (SEA); summer flights to Seattle fill up, so book early.
- The Panama Canal voyage starts and ends in different ports, so expect to buy a one-way flight home. Ports and dates were not published.
