October 3, 2026 — The CGT union is keeping its call for a strike at all TotalEnergies sites on Thursday, October 8, after rejecting a bonus the company offered on October 2. A ferry strike between Marseille and Corsica is being renewed day by day. And pilot and cabin crew unions have filed a national strike notice for October 17–21.

- Fuel: TotalEnergies announced a one-off 1,000-euro bonus on October 2. The CGT called it manipulation and kept the strike. Site-by-site forecasts are TBA.
- Corsica: the cancelled October 2 crossings linked Marseille with Bastia, Île-Rousse, Propriano and Ajaccio. Corsica Linea’s site shows disruption in progress.
- Flight crews: the notice, filed September 21, is over a pension rule change. It covers crews at all French carriers.
- Paris transit: sources conflict on whether an open-ended CGT notice at RATP has ended. We found no report of disruption on October 2–3.
- No new SNCF or air traffic control strike notice was found.
What it means for airline travelers
- Rental cars: fill the tank before October 8, and do not return to the airport on fumes that week.
- Corsica: check your sailing on the Corsica Linea site the day before. Ask for a free change or a refund if it is cancelled.
- October 17–21: this is the one to watch for airline employees. Standby and ZED travel on French carriers will be very risky. Wait for the airlines’ flight plans before committing.
- Backups: on strike days, trains fill quickly. Book refundable rail tickets early.
