What it means for travelers
- Three gateways: Seattle (SEA), Vancouver (YVR) and Anchorage (ANC) for Whittier sailings.
- One-way cruises need open-jaw flights. Sailings between Whittier and Vancouver start and end in different countries, so book flights for both cities early.
- Summer flights to Alaska are busy. Flying to Anchorage or Seattle between June and August calls for arriving at least a day ahead.
- Vancouver means a border crossing. Carry a passport and allow time for Canadian entry before embarkation.
