October 2, 2026 — Covers route announcements and schedule filings published October 1–2, 2026. “TBA” means the detail has not been published.

Delta is putting Flagstaff, Arizona, on its map with twice-daily Salt Lake City flights from next June, the biggest U.S. route announcement of the past 24 hours. JetBlue opened Fort Lauderdale–Barranquilla and loaded a February 4, 2027 start for its first Venezuela route, although that date is a schedule filing and not yet an airline-confirmed launch. On the cutting side, WestJet has pulled three transatlantic routes from its summer 2027 schedule, two of them from Halifax, and Romania’s Animawings has suspended all scheduled flying, including Bucharest–Chicago, through October 24.

Delta: Salt Lake City (SLC) → Flagstaff (FLG)

Starts: June 7, 2027. Frequency: twice daily, year-round. Aircraft: CRJ-550 in a premium configuration, flown by SkyWest as Delta Connection. Flagstaff is a new dot for Delta and gives the airport a second carrier alongside American, which flies to Phoenix and Dallas/Fort Worth. Delta is pitching it as the gateway to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. An on-sale date has not been published.

JetBlue: Fort Lauderdale (FLL) → Caracas (CCS)

Starts: February 4, 2027 (schedule filing). Frequency: daily. Aircraft: Airbus A320. This would be JetBlue’s first Venezuela route. Source conflict: the date comes from schedules filed on October 1 and reported by AeroRoutes, Aviation Week and Aviacionline; JetBlue has not issued a release confirming it, and Airline Geeks reported the same day that no firm launch date has been set. Aviacionline adds that ticket sales and U.S. and Venezuelan permits are still to be confirmed. Treat the date as tentative.

JetBlue: Fort Lauderdale (FLL) → Barranquilla (BAQ)

Started: October 1, 2026. Frequency: daily. Aircraft: Airbus A320. Barranquilla is JetBlue’s third Colombian city after Medellín and Cartagena. The route was first announced earlier this year; the news in the past day is that it is now operating.

Contour Airlines: Muscle Shoals (MSL) → Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)

Starts: November 12, 2026. Frequency: 5 weekly (westbound Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat; eastbound Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun). Aircraft: 30-seat Embraer ERJ-135. Contour is moving five weekly Charlotte frequencies over to DFW while keeping one daily Muscle Shoals–Charlotte flight. Connections at DFW are available on American. Note: Contour’s release is dated September 30; trade coverage followed on October 1.

Air Astana: Astana (NQZ) → Bangkok (BKK)

Starts: December 11, 2026. Frequency: 2 weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays). Aircraft: Airbus A321LR. Kazakhstan’s transport ministry says the addition brings Kazakhstan–Thailand service to 20 weekly flights across four routes.

Air Astana: Almaty (ALA) → Langkawi (LGK)

Starts: December 25, 2026. Frequency: 3 weekly, seasonal. Aircraft: Airbus A321neo.

Maldivian: Malé (MLE) → Melbourne (MEL)

Starts: January 10, 2027, running through March 22, 2027. Frequency: 1 weekly (departs Malé Sundays, returns from Melbourne Mondays). Aircraft: Airbus A330-200. A seasonal return to Australia for the first quarter.

BeOnd: Malé (MLE) → Red Sea (RSI) → Moscow (SVO) and Paris (CDG)

Starts: Moscow Sheremetyevo on January 15, 2027; Paris Charles de Gaulle on January 16, 2027. Frequency: 3 weekly each. Aircraft: Airbus A321. Both launches slip about a month from mid-December 2026 and now route via Red Sea International instead of Dubai.

Cebu Pacific: Cebu (CEB) → Nagoya (NGO) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG)

Starts: December 1, 2026 for both (Nagoya was November 19; Shanghai was November 17). Frequency: Nagoya 4 weekly; Shanghai 3 weekly. Aircraft: Airbus A320neo.

Vietnam Airlines: Hanoi (HAN) → Ahmedabad (AMD)

Starts: November 3, 2026 (pushed back from October 25). Frequency: 4 weekly. Aircraft: Airbus A321.

WestJet: three Europe routes removed for summer 2027

Routes: Halifax (YHZ) → Copenhagen (CPH), Halifax (YHZ) → Madrid (MAD) and Toronto Pearson (YYZ) → Glasgow (GLA). Last day of service: TBA. Effective: the routes were removed from WestJet’s summer 2027 schedule in the filing dated September 21, 2026, reported by AeroRoutes on October 1. TravelPulse Canada notes the two Halifax routes flew only in summer 2026 and had been due back next year. WestJet has not published a statement or final flight dates.

Animawings: all scheduled flights suspended

Routes: all 20 scheduled routes; charters continue. From Bucharest (OTP): Cluj-Napoca, Geneva, Iasi, Istanbul, Larnaca, London Gatwick, Munich, Nice, Chicago O’Hare, Paris CDG, Prague, Rotterdam, Sharm el-Sheikh, Stockholm Arlanda and Tel Aviv. From Cluj-Napoca (CLJ): Athens, Frankfurt, Sharm el-Sheikh and Vienna. Effective: October 2 through October 24, 2026. Resumption: TBA; schedules from October 25 are under revision. Anyone holding ZED or interline listings on the Bucharest–Chicago flight should rebook.

Cebu Pacific: two resumptions cancelled

Routes: Iloilo (ILO) → Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK) and Manila (MNL) → Xiamen (XMN). Effective: both were due back on November 23, 2026 and have been pulled. Iloilo–Bangkok has no new date (TBA); Manila–Xiamen is tentatively rescheduled for March 29, 2027 at the earliest.

Checked and left out because the original announcement is more than 24 hours old: Avelo’s McKinney routes to Atlanta, Denver and Nashville (announced in September), Loganair’s Isle of Man–London City exit (September 29) and Icelandair’s Halifax exit (September 29).
